Squirk is a spelling app for young children (around ages 4–8). Because it's made for kids, a parent or guardian sets it up and gives consent before we collect anything about the child. This notice explains what we collect, how we use it, and the control you have.

About the child, once you've consented:
We don't collect contacts, location, or any persistent advertising identifiers.
Squirk uses the microphone so your child can say their spelling out loud. The audio is turned into letters on the device itself — it is never recorded, stored, or sent to us. We keep only the resulting spelling answers, never the voice.
We never use any of it for advertising.
We use a small number of infrastructure providers (for example, secure hosting/database and transactional email) that process information only on our behalf and under contract. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We ask for verifiable parental consent before collecting any of your child's information. After you consent in the app, we email you a confirmation with a one-tap link to undo it if it wasn't you.
At any time you can review your child's information, withdraw your consent, and delete the data — from the Parent area, under Withdraw consent & delete data. Withdrawing consent stops further collection and removes your child's data; we complete deletion requests within 30 days. We keep your child's practice data while the account is active so progress is saved. When you withdraw consent or delete the profile, we remove that data within 30 days.
Information is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We collect as little as possible and keep voice off our servers entirely.
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this notice and its version and date, and ask for fresh consent where required.
